ABSTRACT
A
group ring is an algebraic structure that may be constructed from an arbitrary
group and a commutative ring. Formally, it is the ring of functions from the
group to the ring, such that multiplication preserves the group operation. A
group ring has a representation as a ring of matrices with entries in the
original ring. In this talk some properties of the rings of real-valued
functions on groups of order 6 or less are described. A necessary and
sufficient condition for an element to be a zero divisor is also given..
